When my youngest daughter started walking and talking it was late spring.  We often spent time outside where she engaged in picking as many flowers she could find.  She loved to show off her bouquets as they overflowed her little hands. 

On one warm day she came running up to me with an impressive bouquet squealing

"Mama, Mama, look at my Candilions aren't they beautiful!!" 

And so the Candilions quilt was conceived
